Three quick things about the pop-up bar that Fabio Ide will be hosting: It’s going to be at The Palace Pool Club. It’s going to be by invitation only, but you can win those invites here.
We don’t know if the exclusivity of the event will help the people involved, but we just spoke to Fabio Ide and truth be told, we are pretty curious how this Axe pop-up bar will go down. Because three especially bars plus cabanas set up for the event always get to us.
Fabio! You’re putting up a pop-up bar! What’s your drink of choice when out and about?
My drink of choice is whisky ever since I was a teenager. My father is a whiskey collector so I grow up appreciating the taste. Here in Manila I drink Henessy.
What’s your idea of the perfect night out?
For me the perfect night is when I’m partying with the people I love the most , listening to the perfect music ( house) and going home with the love of my life after.
Have you found the cure to a hangover?
The best cure for a hangover is steam Room and Ultragen. (Recovery supplement)
What can people expect from your pop-up bar? Will The Palace become something completely different from what it is? Or will you simply build on what The Palace is at the moment.
For this event, you will see us Paint the Pool Club black, it won’t be like a regular night, from the artists we will be using, to the drinks and food, we’ll definitely have a more refined take on the Palace. The whole place is really going to look different, as we will be putting out tables for eating, lights, and of course styling the cabana’s which will really set us apart and differentiate my event from any regular night.
How hard/easy was it to conceptualize a pop-up bar according to the Axe Black?
Well, I wouldn’t call it easy, but I did get a lot of help from the brand and of course my teammates. My team, composed of Sam YG, Alex Habaluyas, Marie Shindo and Franco Saycon, are actually al very well versed in the club scene, having worked with the Palace group for multiple events – so at least we were able to get it kind of easy from there because we knew how to prepare and the suppliers we could tap to turn all our ideas to life.
We’re reading the press information and it says the bar boasts of a tequila, whiskey, and champagne bar. Of the three, what are you personally looking forward to the most?
Im looking forward to the whiskey bar because there people will also be able to understand and appreciate more the understated world of the Axe Black man. Together with the whisky they will also be able to have cigars together with their whiskey.
A lot of attention is given to the Brazilian Fizz? How many of those can you drink?
The Brazilian Fizz is actually a Caipirinha, a classic brazilian cocktail made with sugars, lime and brandy! It’s actually quite sweet, that masks its alcoholic flavour – I think 3/4 rounds you’d definitely start to feel the hit!
There will be 12 cabanas with different themes — of the dozen, what you are most excited about?
Actually we will have only 3 cabanas with different themes. Looking forward to the cabana where we will have grooming so people can actually have a real hair cut on that cabana. Excited to see people’s hairstyle after that.
How can people score tickets to the opening night?
