The much-awaited episode of The Steve Harvey Show where Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach guested has finally aired in the US.
That was the first time that the two have met after Steve Harvey’s incredibly embarrassing and most unfortunate name mix-up at the Miss Universe coronation night last month.
Wurtzbach’s guesting is the first of a two-part special; Miss Colombia Adriana Gutierrez will appear on the show on Tuesday, US time.
Early on in the episode, Harvey was moved to tears as he remembered his wife’s unwavering support throughout the ordeal.
“But he composed himself enough to have a spirited heart-to-heart conversation with Wurtzbach,” reports Peter Sblendorio on NY Daily News.
During the show, Wurtzbach demonstrated what “confidently beautiful with a heart” meant. “Don’t beat yourself up anymore for this. Let’s move forward and be happy,” Wurtzbach said, all the while smiling and laughing and looking damn comfortable as queen.
She also admitted that she “had mixed feelings receiving the crown moments after she was told she lost,” the report continues.
“I was being sensitive to her feelings,” Wurtzbach began. “When I was standing there, I was very happy that I won. I was excited. But I was also thinking about her. I couldn’t help but think about how tough this must be for her.”
Harvey was all praises for Wurtzbach, calling her “an absolute class act.” It was a sentiment echoed in several of his Instagram photos he posted after the show.
