IN PHOTOS: A look at Kylie Verzosa’s Miss International journey

It was not an easy journey to the crown for Kylie Verzosa.

The 24-year-old beauty queen from Baguio City faced defeat before she bagged the Miss International 2016 title in Tokyo, Japan on Thu, Oct 27.

But the bubbly and determined Kylie persevered.

Here’s a look at her journey towards becomng the 56th Miss International:

Kylie Verzosa during the national costume pre-pageant segment of the 2015 Binibining Pilipinas. She made to the pageant’s top 15, but failed to bag a title. Among that year’s winners were Pia Wurtzbach, who won the 2015 Miss Universe pageant, and Ann Colis, who bagged the 2015 Miss Globe title.

The year after, Kylie joined the Binibining Pilipinas pageant again. The 24-year-old model said she was inspired by Pia Wurtzbach, who had to join the local pageant three times before earning a crown.

Kylie was among the favorites to win the top crown at the Bb. Pilipinas 2016 pageant. Instead, it went to another favorite: pageant first-timer Maxine Medina. Kylie was named Bb. Pilipinas-International 2016.

“We’ll have six (Miss International crowns),” she confidently said when asked about her chances in the Miss International 2016 pageant.
