The Philippines set out to impress after unveiling its booth at the 73rd Frankfurt Book Fair in Frankfurt, Germany, said to be the world’s largest trade fair for books.

Bright colors and modern silhouettes adorned the booth, designed by Team Manila’s creative director and award-winning designer Jowee Alviar.

The National Books Development Board – Philippines led the booth with the theme “Books Philippines: An Archipelago of Stories,” featuring local works on contemporary fiction, graphic novels, children’s literature, young adult literature, and non-fiction titles particularly on culture, history, and cuisine.

This is the sixth time the Philippines has joined the Frankfurt Book Fair, bringing some of the Philippines’ top publishers such as Adarna House, Anvil Publishing, Ateneo de Manila University Press, Milfores Publishing, University of the Philippines Press, University of Santo Tomas Publishing House, Komiket, and others.

Dubbed as the “Olympics of the publishing world,” the Frankfurt Book Fair is considered the world’s most important book fair for international deals and trading. It will run until October 24 this year.
