PH wins Miss Tourism International

The Philippines has another win in this year’s pageant season.

Jannie Loudette Alipo-on, the country’s representative at this year’s Miss Tourism International was crowned the winner on Wednesday in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

In August, Alipo-on was chosen to be the Philippines’ representative in the Miss Tourism International pageant during the Mutya ng Pilipinas competition.

Alipo-on, 25 years old, is from Navotas, a city north of the capital Manila. She was previously part of the ABS-CBN game show Deal or No Deal and graduated from De La Salle University College of Saint Benilde where she studied travel and tourism management.

Miss Tourism International was founded in Malaysia in 1994. This year, 50 candidates from different countries vied for the crown.

Other contestants in the top five were:

Miss Tourism Global Diana Hills from Australia

Miss Tourism Cosmopolitan International Lois Merry Tengel from Indonesia

Miss Tourism Metropolitan International Maja Aleksandra from Poland

Dreamgirl of the Year International Julia Do Vale Horta from Brazil.

This is the Philippines’ fourth win in the competition. Past Filipino winners include Esperanza Manzano in 2000, the late Rizzini Alexis Gomez in 2012, and Angeli Dione Gomez in 2013.
