Blame it on the holiday rush — but we totally missed the fact that one of Metro Manila’s most popular radio personalities has just quit his job!
John Gemperle — more popularly known by his radio moniker Papa Jack — has left 90.7 Love Radio. This ends his 12-year stint as a DJ.
Papa Jack — who helped catapult the radio station on top of the ratings game — made his last broadcast Dec 16.
“Papa Jack announced that he was leaving the radio station. He did not cite the reason for his resignation,” reports Tempo.
The report noted: “It may be recalled that Papa Jack made a name for himself with his distinct, oftentimes blunt interaction with his callers who asked him for advice on love and career. He became a regular fixture in night broadcasts.”
With the holidays now over, Papa Jack’s fans are really feeling his absence. Check out their comments below.
It should be noted, though, that Papa Jack has posted a card on his Facebook page that declares, “I didn’t want to go.”
