Someone’s coming around.
Green Day will be performing a show in Manila in March of next year, the band announced on its social media accounts yesterday.
Known for hit songs like When I Come Around, Basket Case, and 21 Guns, the group will perform at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. The band also has performances scheduled in Coconuts cities Singapore (March 8), Bangkok (March 11), and Hong Kong (March 20).
Composed of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool, the band first achieved mainstream success in the mid-1990s with the release of the album Dookie. While the early aughts signaled a decline in the band’s commercial success, its 2004 Grammy award-winning album American Idiot became a worldwide hit. It also spawned a musical of the same title which was also staged on Broadway and the West End.
The group is set to release a new album, lovingly titled Father of All Motherf*ckers, in February 2020.
