Nora Aunor is on a roll! After winning Best Actress in a Foreign Film for the movie Dementia at the St. Tropez International Film Festival, the Superstar just headed to France for the Cannes International Film Festival this year. She left the country yesterday, May 17.
Taklub, which is directed by Brillante Mendoza and produced by the Department of Natural Resourses, is competing in the Un Certain Regard section of the festival, which started last May 13.
This isn’t the first time for Nora to have her movie premiered in Cannes. More than 30 years ago, the movie she produced and starred in, Bona, was also featured in the same festival.
Taklub is based on a true story: how a mother from Tacloban copes after losing her children during Yolanda.
It will have its world premiere tomorrow, May 19, and the Superstar will be wearing one of the two gowns designed by Albert Andrada for her. And nope, they won’t be ternos; they are modern couture gowns but will still have Filipino elements.
There will also be a press conference where Nora will don a pantsuit and jacket designed by Rosel Rosal.
Good luck, guys!
