The Quezon City government has filled a Pride Council that Mayor Herbert Bautista created in March.
According to the city’s official website, the council will be chaired by movie and TV director Soxie Topacio, with Crisaldo Pablo and Jesse Pauline Solis as vice chairs.
Also on the council are city health officer Dr. Antonieta Inumerable, Maria Stella Indiongco and Socorro Carmelyn de Vera from the mayor’s office, and Erwin Joselito Ulanday, president of the QC Hall Gay Employees’ Association.
Danton Remoto of Ladlad partylist, Dante Tabuñar of the city’s public affairs and information services office, and Rica Paras of Transgender Association-STRAP are also on the council.
Also on the council are Romrico Luga of Trippers Philippines, Rev. Cresencio Agbayani, Jr., and entrepreneur Wilbert Tolentino. Rhomel Espaldon will represent the QC environmental protection and waste management department on the council.
Bautista created the council last month to “highlight the city government’s continuing support for the implementation and enforcement of gender-based policies, programs and activities.” Among its first activities will be to hold an education campaign on LGBT issues and concerns.
