Psy gives Filipino politicians permission to “Gangnam Style”

If your ears were already bleeding from too much “Gangnam Style” during the holidays, prepare to hear more of it now that election campaign time is approaching.

Korean artist Psy had given the green light to Filipino politicians who want to use his global hit song for their campaigns. The massive YouTube hit is fast becoming a favorite campaign jingle because it is upbeat and catchy.

Inquirer News reported that former President Joseph Estrada, who is running for the Manila mayoral post, and ex-senator Ernesto Maceda, who is running for the Senate, are eyeing the royalty-free song for their campaigns.

It can be recalled that Psy had waived all rights and royalties to the song, which helped make it an even bigger hit overseas.
