Pasig City police says be cautious when shopping online

Fake sellers and unscrupulous individuals are lurking around online, so be extra cautious when letting go of your hard-earned money.

This was the warning issued yesterday by Pasig City police after a 30-year-old woman came to the station to a file a complaint. The woman, one Jonie Ann Necor of Antipolo City lost Php13,000 after paying it to online vendor for an iPod mini.

She transacted with the seller, one Abegail Guzman, through the shopping website Sulit.com.

When Necor verified through Sulit.com, she was allegedly told that the seller ‘s name was Marie Joanna Santos of Phase 2, Monterezza Village, Benguet, Baguio City.

The Journal reports that the chances of Necor recovering her money are slim to none. She said she filed a police report to serve as warning to others.
