Yup, it’s really happening
In a post on her Facebook blog on Fri, singer-dancer Mocha Uson said she is accepting her appointment as board member of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).
And what will she do as MTRCB board member? Prohibit soft porn on primetime television.
“Asahan niyo po, my first mission is to NOT ALLOW SOFT PORN sa TV during primetime,” she wrote. “Alam kong mahirap dahil isa lang po ako at madami ang board members ngunit pipilitin natin ma convince ang board na hindi tama na ipalabas ito sa oras kung saan makakapanood ang bata.”
(My first mission as board member is to not allow soft porn on television during primetime. I know this will be hard because I’m alone and there are other board members but I will convince the board that it’s not right to air this during hours when children are watching.)
Mocha also said this in an interview with Mario Dumaual of ABS-CBN News. “Pagtutuunan po natin ng pansin na mawala na yung mga ‘soft porn’ sa mga teleserye,” she said.
(I will make sure that ‘soft porn’ won’t be a part of drama series shown on television.)
“Kung hindi car sex scene, sa garden. ‘Yung isa naman sa mga kwarto-kwarto… dapat magkaron na ng pagbabago sa telebisyon,” she added.
(Some drama series show sex scenes in the car, in the garden, or in rooms… Change should also come to television.)
Mocha wrote in her Facebook post that she accepted the MTRCB appointment with that condition that she will not receive any salary.
She added, “At kung hindi naman, ibibigay ko po ang 100% na sahod ko sa Duterte’s Kitchen (DK) at sa DSWD Centers/Projects.”
(If that is not allowed, I will give 100 percent of my salary to Duterte’s Kitchen and to Department of Social Welfare and Development Centers/Projects.)
The MTRCB is responsible for regulating and classifying movies and television programs.
