Marissa Lumanlan, the mother of Franco Hernandez, the late member of boy group Hashtags, shared that their last conversation was about work and how tired her son had been.

“They taped several episodes [for It’s Showtime] and he just said that he was really tired and needs a break. [That] he’s going on a four-day vacation in Davao and unfortunately, this accident happened.” Lumanlan told ABS-CBN News reporter Jeff Fernando yesterday at the Arlington Memorial Chapels where Hernandez lies in state.

According to Lumanlan, it was Hernandez’s dream to buy a new house.

“He wanted to by a new house. He was really saving up for it. And travel, that’s what he wanted,” she said.

Lumanlan also shared fond memories of Hernandez. She said that her son would text her “Good night, I love you” every day and described him as a loving brother to his siblings.

“Franco is very loving, especially to his family, especially to his sister,” she said. “The last thing [she did] before he died was to leave a sandwich inside his sister’s room and text her, ‘I have a sandwich for you, I love you.'”

Hernandez died last Saturday in Davao Occidental when a motorboat he and his girlfriend were riding hit a wave. His remains will be cremated on Friday.
