Mostly Mozart: Darrell Ang, Cristine Coyiuto, Arthur Espiritu (July 11)

Singapore-born and St Petersburg-trained conductor Darrell Ang leads Manila Chamber Orchestra (MCO) Foundation’s Mostly Mozart concert.

The young maestro—who will be donating his artist’s fee to benefit the MCOF’s “Young Artists Development Program” and to Habitat for the rehabilitation of victims of Yolanda—will work with pianist Cristine Coyiuto, tenor Arthur Espiritu and the Manila Symphony Orchestra.

Coyiuto plays Mozart’s Piano Concerto no. 23 in A major KV. 488, while Espiritu performs two rarely performed Mozart pieces, the dramatic concert aria “Misero, o sogno” and the fiendish “Se vuoi che te raccolgano” from the opera Il Sogno di Scipione.

MCO Foundation’s Mostly Mozart 2014. July 11, 8pm. Philippine Stock Exchange Auditorium, Tektite Tower, Ortigas Business District, Pasig City; www.ticketworld.com, +63 2 8919999. PHP1,030 & PHP2,060.
