Still no luck for the Philippines!
As in the first two seasons of Asia’s Next Top Model, we were THIS close to winning the top prize.
Former DLSU volleyball player Monika Sta. Maria, 23, secured the number two slot in the third season of ANTP which aired its finale last night. Ayu Gani of Indonesia won the title while Aimee Rose Cheng-Bradshaw of Singapore was 2nd runner-up.
Many Pinoys expressed their disappointment over the results. After all, a Pinay has never won the title but always came close. In the first season, Stephanie Retuya was 1st runner-up, while in the second season, Jodilly Pendre and Katarina Rodriguez were 1st and 2nd runner-up, respectively.
Monika posted her finale photo from the show on Instagram, thanked her supporters, and shared that she did get sad and disappointed for “coming so close to the title and placing second.”
