It’s funny how the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is also in charge of this event.
“The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Sunday, September 13, announced the revised list of movies for the 41st Metro Manila Film Festival,” reports GMA News Online.
The report noted: “Titles of some of the competing movies for this year’s MMFF have been changed, including the film starring Eat Bulaga Kalyeserye’s Alden Richards.”
Here’s the revised list of MMFF offerings:
- My Bebe Love (formerly Romcom-in Mo Ako) – starring Vic Sotto, Ai-Ai delas Alas and Alden Richards
- Buy Now, Die Later (formerly Death and Senses) – starring Jayson Gainza, John Lapus and Ian Veneracion
- Haunted Mansion – starring Joem Basco, Alan Paule and Janelle Salvador
- Hermano Pule – staring Aljur Abrenica and Alessandra de Rossi
- Pamilyang Love Love (formerly MR and MRS Split) – starring Herbert Bautista and Kris Aquino
- Nilalang (The Entity) – starring Cesar Montano and Maria Ozawa
- Walang Forever – starring JM de Guzman and Jennilyn Mercado and Derek Ramsay
- Beauty and The Bestie – starring Vice Ganda, Coco Martin and Karla Estrada
The report further pointed out that “some of the movies have changed the lead actors, including Nilalang that originally cast Robin Padilla as lead actor.” Hermano Pule was supposed to have starred John Prats and Karylle, while Haunted Mansion’s former lead actors were Marlo Mortel and Jerome Ponce.
The annual film festival starts on Dec 25.
