While Binibing Pilipinas International 2017 Mariel De Leon slammed Mocha Uson’s appointment as Assistant Secretary, Newly-crowned Bb Pilipinas Universe 2017 Rachel Peters expressed her support for Mocha Uson.
The sexy dancer-turned-political blogger who was recently appointed as the assistant secretary of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) once again polarized political debates on social media. Two of the country’s top beauty queens were not spared from this debate.
“I believe that everyone should be given a chance,” Peters said about the controversial appointment in a report by Arniel Serato on Pep.ph
“You can’t judge a book by its cover, that’s something that I was always taught by my parents. We should all give her a chance. We should stand behind President Duterte,” added the British-Filipina beauty queen.
“I love my country so it breaks my heart to know someone like her got a position in the govt,” Mariel said previously on her Twitter account.

“There are so much issues happening in our country now so I’m glad that I have the platform now to voice out my opinions. See, beauty pageants aren’t just for ‘standing there and looking pretty,’” Mariel added.
While Rachel and Mariel don’t agree on the same politics, it looks like using their fame to voice opinions is something both beauties can agree on.
