Actress Melissa Mendez is seeking the help of Women’s party-list Gabriela to have her rights asserted following reports that she was offloaded from a Cebu Pacific flight bound for Pagadian City last Friday.
In an interview with The Buzz that was aired on Sunday, Mendez was in tears as she revealed that she lost her job because of the incident.
“Nawalan ako ng trabaho dahil sa kanya. I was supposed to leave ngayon. Biglang kinancel dahil mayaman sila, dahil influential family sila. Kaya nga humihingi ako ng tulong sa Gabriela para tulungan nila ako,” she said.
Despite this, Mendez is optimistic that she will get over the humiliation, maintaining that she did nothing wrong.
“I know I’ll be vindicated naman. Wala akong hawak na pwedeng ikamatay ng tao. Nasampal ko lang ‘yung lalaking nag-mock sa akin, nag-humiliate sa akin,” she said.
