Melissa Etheridge definitely can relate to what Charice, who came out a couple of years ago, is undergoing right now: pursuing a music career as a lesbian artist. Melissa, after all, came out in 1993, and still went on to release hit albums and even win two Grammy awards.
Most popular for the hit song “Come to My Window,” Melissa, who also started the LGBT-supporting organization Uprising of Love, has some advice for Charice. She told Yong Chavez of ABS-CBN News: “Do what you love. If she’s singing and she loves it and she’s doing what she loves then her life will be successful.”
