A former varsity volleyball captain of Siliman University bagged first runner-up in the recently held Miss Asia 2015 pageant in Kochi, a city in India’s southern state of Kerala.

The 25-year old Alfe Marie Nathanile Dagle Uy, who proudly wore the Miss Philippines sash, joined participants from more than a dozen countries including Bhutan, China, Iran, Malaysia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Tibet, Turkmenistan, the UAE and Uzbekistan.

Alfe, who has a strong background when it comes to pageants, glowed during the three rounds of competitions — national costume, black cocktail and white gown.

The 5’7″ Filipino stunner works as a personnel manager in a trading company in Dubai.

According to her profile on the Miss Asia website, Alfe attends Filipino community activities on weekends and doing community work for Filipinos in UAE.

Eventually, Miss India, Kanika Kapoor, was hailed Miss Asia 2015, while Miss Azerbaijan, Jailla Gulieva, the second runner-up.

On a Facebook post, Alfe said: “It’s an honor to represent my country Philippines! I will never forget this wonderful experience in my life. A great story to share to everyone. Wonderful experience, good memories, friendship, learnings and most importantly, we are one family”.

She also posted a photo of her winnings, as well as her first runner-up sash.
