While the rest of the country is still caught up in a debate about Maxine Medina’s answer in the Q&A portion of the 65th Miss Universe pageant held yesterday, the 26-year-old beauty queen is ready to take off her heels and move on from the pageant drama.
Maxine said that she was satisfied with how she represented the country. She said she gave the competition her 101 percent.

Clearly, Maxine was in a pressure cooker environment days prior to the event. She received criticism for her communication skills which pushed her to use an interpreter for the Q&A portion.
It’s a Herculean task to secure a back-to-back win since the Philippines the host country, so perhaps expecting Maxine to win was indeed a bit too much.
“I’m good. I’m happy na at least nakapasok tayo sa Top 6. I hope I did my best. Thank you so much sa lahat ng mga Pilipinong sumuporta sa akin. Hindi kayo bumitaw,” she said in a report by ABS-CBN News.

Meanwhile, Tourism Undersecretary Kat de Castro posted a photo with Maxine on her Facebook account.
“Dear bashers, kung sa palagay ninyo affected si Maxine…. HELL NO. We are having a lot of fun. Sorry na lang,” de Castro said.
