There is no stopping Fil-Aussie Marlisa Punzalan. After a well-received performance last week, when she sang David Guetta and Sia’s “Titanium,” and the classic hit “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” the 15-year old continued to show everyone how good she is with her rendition of Alicia Keys’ “Girl on Fire” this week.
Her mentor Ronan Keating was the only one who gave her a standing ovation, but the other judges/mentors had good things to say about her and her performance. Redfoo, for example, commended her voice. “Great vocals, that vocal was spot on,” he said.
On the other hand, Dannii Minogue said “You are on fire!” while Natalie Bassingwaighte commented that she’s loved how extra confident she’s been these past few weeks.
Interestingly, Marlisa was at the Bottom 2 together with Redfoo’s Reigan Derry but Marlisa survived and is now a grand finalist.
Marlisa will compete for The X Factor Australia grand title with Brothers 3 and Dean Ray.
Marlisa also sang Shontelle’s hit song “Impossible,” which once again earned her raves (and criticism from Dannii) from the judges.
