Have you ever seen the Hulk posing with a miniature version of himself?
On Saturday (Manila time), Hollywood star and environmental advocate Mark Ruffalo posted photos of a Hulk action figure made from recycled slippers. It was created by Filipino toy artist and self-proclaimed “tsinelas man” Elmer Padilla.
Ruffalo wrote, “Believe it or not, this #Hulk doll is made out of recycled tsinelas (that’s Tagalog for flip-flops). @elmerboytsinelas made this for me so I just wanted to give a nice shoutout. Not only is this inventively creative, but it’s sustainable and just pure awesome! Thank you Elmer!”
Two days ago, Padilla went on his first exhibit in the Warner Bros. Pop Expo. We certainly hope it won’t be his last!
Padilla is originally from the province of Samar, but he’s now a construction worker in Imus, Cavite. According to an article by the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Padilla started making art using “discarded slippers and rubber” to augment his income.
As of posting, Ruffalo’s post has earned over 8,500 likes.
