Marian Rivera is not a stranger to helping others. Not so long ago, she partnered with GMA Regional TV for The Kapuso Adopt-a-Bangka Project, which gave work to those who lost their jobs as fishermen. She was also part of the Back-to-Sea project that benefited more victims of typhoons.
Now the actress is partnering with Child Train to help kids with harelip. She told Bulletin Entertainment that a child who has harelip suffers from many setbacks like low self-esteem and discrimination; they also feel discouraged to play with others and to even go to school. “Bakit hindi natin bigyan ng magandang kinabukasan ang mga bata?” she said. “Ayusin yung labi nila para may kumpiyansa sila sa sarili.”
In a photo she posted on Instagram a couple of days ago, Marian encouraged fans and followers to help put a smile to those with cleft lip or palate using the hashtag #YANAngSmile and giving out the contact number +63 917 5287246.
