Looks like Maria Isabel Lopez’s transportation woes aren’t over. The former beauty queen and actress’ driver’s license was officially revoked by the Land Transportation Office (LTO), as seen in a document released today and dated Nov. 23.
This comes after the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) filed a complaint against Lopez for removing traffic cones and driving on a part of Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) Ave. reserved for delegates of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit earlier this month.
Lopez even bragged what she had done on Facebook in a now-viral post.

After posting about violating traffic rules on social media, she used the hashtag #BeLikeMaria to brag about what she did.
But what happens if you want to “be like Maria?”
According to MMDA spokesperson Celine Pialago, Lopez is prohibited from applying for a license for two years. She will also need to pay a total of PHP8,000 (US$158.34) as a penalty for disregarding traffic signs, reckless driving, and for violating the Anti-Distracted Driving Act act.
Yeah, if you don’t want the same to happen to you, probably not a good idea to be like Maria.
