ManilART wants to bring Filipino art to a wider audience

Manila’s art scene is gearing up for next month’s ManilART (Coconuts Manila is digital media partner) where organizers hope to encourage enthusiasts worldwide to head down the capital for the best of Filipino contemporary art. At the press launch, Lifestyle Asia editor in chief Anna Sobrepena pointed out how Filipino artists have been selling their works at art houses in Singapore and Hong Kong. Aside from shows mounted by several galleries in Manila, the exhibition also intends to put up regional shows to bring the arts closer to the people. MM
