Catch a different kind of stage musical

Date: May 11 – 13 (Friday – Sunday) and 19 – 20 (Saturday –  Sunday)
Venue: PETA Theater Center, 5 Eymard Dr., New Manila, Quezon City

The original Filipino “anti-romcom” musical Changing Partners will be staged once again starting this Friday. It tells the story of four couples and how each deals with the problems brought on by age differences in a relationship.

The twist is that the characters, all named Alex and Cris, are played by the same four actors.

Intrigued? Confused?

This trailer from the musical’s film adaptation (released earlier this year) might help with that:

Date: May 12, Saturday
Venue: Ralph’s Wine and Spirits, 910 Arnaiz Ave., San Lorenzo Village, Makati City

Drinking wine is fun and all, but knowing which ones to buy and which ones to skip — less fun to do, unless you’re already pretty familiar with assessing wine types.

Those who want to up their wine game can start with The Basics: Wine Tasting with Ramon Joseph, which is being organized by The Workroom Manila.

For PHP2,500 (US$48.04), participants can learn more about wine styles, flavors, and aroma while tasting a selection of bottles from old and new wine regions around the world.

Date: May 12, Saturday
Venue: Vinyl on Vinyl Gallery, 2241 Chino Roces Ave., Makati City

Malls, malls, malls… unavoidable in Manila, but if they start to get monotonous, then we’ve always got alternative options. Those who want to get away from chain boutiques and department stores (even just for a weekend) can look forward to Vinyl on Vinyl Gallery’s Market Day this Saturday.

The bazaar will feature a slew of local artists and crafters who will sell everything from handmade products, stickers, and toys to original art prints and zines.
