Venue: The Link, Ayala Center, Makati City

Art Fair Philippines 2018 is happening this weekend, so don’t miss it if you’re looking to buy or even just learn more about the local contemporary art scene.

Enthusiasts would enjoy it for its varied selection of works curated by galleries around the country, but it’s also not intimidating for those who have a new-found interest in art.

Henrietta Swan Leavitt was an American astronomer who paved the way for the discovery of other galaxies. Her life story is told in the play Silent Sky written by Lauren Gunderson, which will be staged here in Manila starting Friday.

The play reimagines events in Leavitt’s life, from her acceptance to Harvard University, to her death, and the struggles she faced through the years as a woman.

Sing along to Broadway tunes when you catch this musical

Date: March 2 (Friday) – 18 (Sunday)
Venue: Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Makati City

Atlantis Theatrical’s staging of the Broadway hit Kinky Boots is back for a limited time this month after its initial run last year.

For this not familiar with the play, it is based on a film and tells that story of a man who inherits a struggling shoe factory and a drag queen who helps him create a line of high-heeled boots, with music by Cyndi Lauper.

It’s an upbeat and fun (also funny) show perfect for lifting your spirits during the weekend.
