What to do in Manila this weekend (Jan. 5 – 7): SF9, Color Manila Paradise Run, I am not Bruce Conner

Venue: The Theatre at Solaire

Fan of Korean idol group SF9? Head on over to Solaire this coming Saturday and meet them in person. Tickets are available at Ticketworld and will set you back PHP3,000 (US$60.17) for a premium ticket and PHP5,500 (US$110.32) for VIP access.

For those who aren’t familiar with K-pop, SF9 or Sensational Feeling 9 is a 9-member boy band from South Korea. Their debut album Feeling Sensation was released in October 2016. Their upcoming concert will be the group’s first visit to the Philippines.

Start the new year with a run

Venue: SM MOA Event Grounds

If getting fit is on your list of resolutions for this year, go to the Color Manila Paradise Run this Sunday. It’s a great way to jumpstart your fitness regimen because the bright colors and upbeat music will let you enjoy your run and keep you entertained throughout.

It’s also great for beginners because you have the option to do a 3 km., 5 km., or 10km. route.

Venue: Room 101, PLDT-CTC Building Ateneo de Manila University

If you’re interested in art but are intimidated by it, sometimes it helps to learn more about the artist first. Ahead of their upcoming exhibition Bruce Conner: Out of Body, local art foundation Bellas Artes Projects has set up a talk about the artist Bruce Conner which will be held at Ateneo de Manila University.

It’ll be conducted by film and new media professor Bruce Jenkins through a live video from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC).
