Venue: PETA Theater Center, New Manila, Quezon City

The Pulitzer Prize-winning one-act play Night, Mother will be staged in the PETA Theater starting this Friday until March 3 (Saturday) and will star actresses Eugene Domingo and Sherry Lara.

This version of the play is a Filipino adaptation by Ian Lomongo. It’s about a daughter who tells her mother that she plans to commit suicide that night and the mother who tries to convince her not to go through with it.

The events take place throughout the course of the night and will happen in real time.

Experience the first Manila Biennale in Intramuros

Date: Starts Feb. 3, Saturday
Venue: Different parts of Intramuros, Manila

Take in the charm of Intramuros when you attend events of the very first Manila Biennale. It’ll be a month-long affair starting this Saturday and ending on March 5 (Monday) that will turn parts of Manila’s walled city into art spaces.

Their first event is the Viva Manila Pasyal Market and Fair this coming Saturday and Sunday, a street fair that will bring artisans, performers, and local businesses together in Fort Santiago.

Venue: World Trade Center, Pasay City

This isn’t technically going to happen over the weekend but we can’t not include it in our list. British indie pop group The xx will be back in Manila this coming Wednesday! As part of their I See You tour, the trio will be performing for their Filipino fans at the World Trade Center.
