It sucks that the two Philippine representatives in Asia’s Next Top Model season two both ended up as runners-up.
Malaysia’s Sheena Liam was named top model, Jodilly Pendre was first runner-up, and Katarina Rodriguez was second runner-up.
Although it would have been amazing if the two Pinays ended up as the final two, we expected for Katarina to not make it since she’s always had a rocky time in the competition. In fact, during the final judging, host Nadya Hutagalung said Katarina, who doesn’t have any professional modelling experience, was a terrible poser in the beginning.
Held in Malaysia’s Tanjong Jara Resort in Kuala Terengganu, the finale had the finalists doing an editorial with the theme “kampung” life (village life). They also participated in a runway show.
In season one, there was only one Pinay runner-up: Stephanie Retuya, who lost to Thailand’s Jessica Amornkuldilok).
Mental note: We should win next season — if there’s still one.
