Fashion designer, makeup artist and entrepreneur Fanny Serrano was rushed to a Quezon City hospital after suffering a stroke on Tue night, Sep 20.
Serrano, whose real name is Felix Mariano Fausto Jr, was taken to the Philippine Heart Center in Quezon City and admitted for observation, said former actress Bianca Lapus in a report by MJ Felipe on ABS-CBN News.
The Philippine “Pioneer of Beauty,” who is now his 60s and whose showbiz clients include Sharon Cuneta, Lorna Tolentino and Cherie Gil, had two minor strokes that affected his senses and motor skills, said the report.
He got his break when actress Celia Rodriguez handpicked him to do her makeup for an event. His first salon was in Cubao at El Niño Apartelle, owned by the showbiz Muhlach family.
Actress Amy Austria explained that Serrano was supposed to stay in the Intensive Care Unit, but had to stay in an ordinary room because there was no other space available.
Serrano is now “awake and is aware of everything happening around him,” said actress Nadia Montenegro who is optimistic about his condition.
“He is in good hands with good doctors and of course his very close friends…He will be well soon,” she added.
