This is making us like Maine Mendoza even more.
In the latest entry on her blog, The Perssimistic Optimist Bella, published on Sun, Jun 24, the Eat Bulaga mainstay said she will not change for the sake of pleasing other people.

“If there is one thing people should always remember, that’d be this: We are not born to please everybody,” she wrote in a post titled “That’s How It Works.”
Maine added: “I would never change who I am just to conform to the norms of this industry.”
“Sure, ‘that’s how it works’, but I am who I am; and it’s up to people if they will like me or not”
Based on the blog post, the sentiment seemed to have came about after an incident that required her to change herself in order to please some people.
When she talked to a person very close to her about the incident, the response she got was “That’s how it (show business) works.”
But Maine isn’t having any of it.
“Why bother trying to be someone you are not when you can just be yourself? Why seek for people’s approval on how to live your life? Why let other people’s opinions define you? Is that how it should work?” she wrote.
Maine added: “I do not think there is a need for you to pretend to be someone else in front of people just so they’d say good things about you.”
This makes us wonder: What happened that prompted Maine to declare that she isn’t pleasing everybody?
