Luis Manzano vague about Jessy Mendiola rumor: ‘Hahanapan ako ng mali’

Are they or aren’t they?

Luis Manzano has already denied that he and Jessy Mendiola are in a relationship. But still, rumors persist that they are already a couple.

So, really, what’s the real score between the two?

Unfortunately, it seems like we’re not getting a straight answer from Luis anytime soon.

The TV host said he is invoking “his right to self-incrimination” regarding matters of the heart.

“Anything I answer, hahanapan ako ng mali. Sumagot na nga ako dati, nahanapan pa ng mali. E di manahimik na lang ako. Kung alam ko ang tao sasaksakin ako, bakit ko bibigyan ng kutsilyo,” Luis told members of the press during the press conference for the ABS-CBN game show Minute To Win It (starts on Mon, Jul 18).

(People will look for something wrong in anything I answer. So I will just keep quiet. If I know someone will stab me, why would I give him a knife?)

He did admit that he and Jessy go out together. But he refused to give any other detail beyond that.

“I can say the most beautiful thing sa inyo. I can be as honest as I can. Pero hahanapan ako ng mali,” he said.

(“I can give you beautiful quotes, I can be honest as in can, but people will just find fault.”)

Luis, 35, was first rumored to be dating Jessy a few weeks after his split with Angel Locsin. Does this mean he’s following the so-called “three month rule?”

(In case you didn’t know, the three month rule — from the John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo movie One More Chance — states that you should only date three months after your breakup).

“Nasa batas ba ang three months rule? Nasa Ten Commandments ba ang three months rule?” Luis quipped. “Sino ba’ng gumawa ng three months rule? Tao lang ang gumawa.”

(Is the three month rule a law? Is the three months rule in the Ten Commandments? Who made the three months rule? Man made those rules.)

But Luis said he is ready to enter a new relationship.

Luis also said he will really speak up about the real score between him and Jessy someday, when people are no longer “out for blood.”

“Yun lang yun, e. Lahat naghahanap ng away ngayon, e. When I see everything dies down, let’s talk again.”

(That’s it. Everyone is looking for a fight these days. When I see everything dies down, let’s talk again.)
