Look: Tacloban artist paints Duterte portrait using coconut wine

What an artistic way to use an alcoholic beverage.

Tacloban artist Dante Enage painted President Rodrigo Duterte’s portrait using “tuba” or coconut wine. He said that it’s his way of thanking the President for his good intentions for the country.

The reddish, bittersweet traditional wine of the Waray is Enage’s medium of choice because he wants to showcase his culture, ABS-CBN News reports.

“It’s more than an art form. It’s also my contribution to the local wine-making industry. When people see my painting, they also take a glimpse of our culture,” Enage said in the vernacular.

The artists said that he is happy with change of the policatal climate in the country.

Enage also painted Pope Francis after the latter visited Tacloban last year.

Enage’s wish? He hopes that the President will find time to visit victims of Super Typhoon Yolanda like him. He also wants to present his artwork to the President.
