We could all use a fairy godmother like Miss Bulgaria, Violina Ancheva.
The lucky teen who received Miss Bulgaria’s pageant gown earlier this year finally got to wear it to her high school prom, which took place on Fri night in the Philippines.
15-year-old Zhyra Nicole Cifra looked glamorous as she modeled the blue Sherri Hill gown featuring a full skirt and a crop top at her school event.
“Today is a big day for me! It’s Zhyra’s prom — the beautiful Filipina that was chosen to wear the dress I was wearing on Miss Universe pageant! I am so excited! Good luck, Zhyra! Bulgaria loves Philippines,” wrote Miss Bulgaria as she shared a collage of herself and Cifra wearing the gown.
It may be recalled that Ancheva generously donated her blue gown after the 65th Miss Universe pageant, which took place in the Philippines in January.
Just before leaving the country, Ancheva posted about how she wanted to help out “a girl in need that can’t buy a dress for her prom.”
After receiving thousands of replies, the 21-year-old beauty queen eventually gave the dress to Cifra’s single mom, Issay Gallano.
“I feel so blessed because of this lucky charm gown of Miss Bulgaria Violina Ancheva. I will always cherish the memorable experiences and I thank God for everything. Words can’t describe how grateful I am,” Cifra wrote on her Facebook page.
We’re glad to see this story come full circle.
