LOOK: New Clark City Aquatic Center reinterpreted as a candy sculpture

Here’s a sweet take on the New Clark City’s Aquatic Center: a reinterpreted sculpture made out of biscuits and sweets!

Morinaga, one of Japan’s leading confectionery companies, recreated the swimming facility in Capas, Tarlac using its beloved treats such as Dars Chocolate, Choice Biscuits, Haichuu, and Ramumune. In case you don’t remember, the New Clark City Aquatic Center hosted the water polo, swimming, and diving events of the 30th Southeast Asia Games from November to December 2019.

Using biscuits and sweets, the snack company did their own take on the 2,000-seater venue, which drew inspiration from the various facets of the country’s coastal scenes.

The Department of Trade and Industry wrote on their Facebook page, “The prismatic aqua architecture-design concept draws inspiration from local capiz, grid windows, the weaves of the baklad or fishing nets, and the graceful fluidity in celebration of the spirit of the unique culture and lifestyle of Philippine coastal communities.”
