Look: The Museum of Natural History is the nerdy hangout of your dreams

Heads up, nerds and geeks!

Your new favorite hangout scheduled to open this year is starting to take shape — and it looks absolutely gorgeous.

As you may already know, the Department of Tourism (formerly Department of Agriculture) building in Rizal park, Manila is currently being converted into the Museum of Natural History, a world-class structure that will display preserved animals, fungi and plants.

Currently working on the structure is the team of architect Dominic Galicia and interior designer Tina Periquet, who may remind some readers of Singapore’s cultural buildings like Esplanade, National Museum and the newly opened National Gallery.

Photos of the on-going construction were shared on the Dominic Galicia Architects Facebook page. The ‘Tree of Life’ looks almost complete. There will also be an area called the “Ayala Hall.”

According to an earlier report by the Philippine Daily Inquirer, “The National Museum staff, members of the Philippine scientific community and natural heritage NGOs have been meeting to conceptualize the new museum, set the direction its exhibits will take, and decide on the educational messages the museum will present to its viewers.”
