After a much publicized brouhaha over “kababawan” in the Philippines, Lea Salonga and Joey de Leon have finally kissed and made up.
“Okay lang sa akin ang kababawan, pero hanggang doon na lamang ba tayo?” Lea wrote on Sep 26. Incidentally, that’s also the same day that It’s Showtime! and Eat Bulaga! had a go at it with their respective paandar, Kapamilya Day and National Pabebe Wave Day.

Lea, a judge for the Kapamilya reality talent search The Voice, has smartly chalked it up to pure coincidence. But since a network war has been heating up between ABS-CBN and GMA, many believed she was navigating treacherous waters.

Then, Joey, the unofficial head keyboard warrior for Eat Bulaga!, surmised the Broadway star may actually have been talking about their rival show, It’s Showtime.

Lea only recently saw Joey’s tweet on that, and thanked the member of the Dabarkads for giving her the benefit of the doubt.

Joey, for his part, told Lea not to worry and that it’s time they make “a whole new world”.
