Can we all just live in peace — seriously?
While the rest of us were enjoying our cocktails-with-umbrellas over the long holiday, Twitterverse was getting some hot action after the divine Miss Lea Salonga posted something to think about on Independence Day.
Have you heard of the phrase “rhetorical question”? It’s something that is asked to make a point.
Maybe Salonga should have explained that before sending this message on June 11: “Our country is not yet debt-free, poverty-free, crime-free, or corruption-free. So what are we free from exactly and why do we celebrate it?”
It got nasty. Twitter user @ragingbulex, with the classy fake name of Rey Pinyoko, replied to Salonga that “only stupid people will like this tweet. you’re family is not perfect so what’s your reason to be proud of them?”
To which she replied (as reported by Pep.ph): “Your. Not you’re. Before you wipe the dirt off my face, you may wanna look in a mirror at your own.” Ouch.
