Lav Diaz’s super typhoon Yolanda-themed documentary — which premiered on Sep 23 at the DMZ International Documentary Film Festival in Korea — is competing in this year’s Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival.
Storm Children (Mga Anak Ng Unos) Book 1 delves into the lives of children of the most storm-battered country in the world and runs for 143 minutes. It is the first of a 14-part series.
This year’s Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival runs from Nov 6 to 16. It is one of the top documentary film festivals in the world alongside Leipzig.Dox and International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam. The 10-day film festival is the biggest in Scandinavia.
Diaz recently won the top Golden Leopard prize at Locarno Film festival for Mula sa Kung Ano ang Noon. His movie Norte is the Philippine entry to the Oscar’s best foreign film category.
