In the Monday evening, June 9, broadcast of Aquino & Abunda Tonight, Kris Aquino weighed in on Senator Bong Revilla’s privilege speech earlier that day.
Kris defended her brother, President Noynoy Aquino, whom Revilla had implied was “partisan.”
Kris had this to say about Revilla’s rant: “Silence is better than BS. I want to respect what the Revilla family is going through but I also have to respect my family and my brother and to this day, the 72% of the Philippines, of the Filipino citizens say that he enjoys the trust and the support of the people. So let it be that.”
Kris added, “This is not an issue about PNoy and his presidency. This is an issue about pork barrel na thank God Noy has nothing to do with. My brother’s conscience is clear.” Aside from Revilla, Senators Juan Ponce Enrile and Jinggoy Estrada were also slapped with plunder raps in connection with the pork barrel scam.
