Last Tuesday, July 1, Kris Aquino posted a photo of a gift from Vilma Santos – a box of ensaimada, complete with a note. Thing is that the handwritten note revealed how Ate Vi is, well, not that good in English.
The note: “Dearest Kris, Thank you sooo much for believing in me! I truely [sic] appreciate it friend… Life is short… Enjoy it – you are so bless [sic]… God is good. Smile 🙂 – Ate Vi”
What happened was that the next day, Ate Vi got a lot of hate messages, and she told Kris this through a text message. Kris posted Ate Vi’s message, with her permission, of course.
Kristeta also clarified through her show Aquino & Abunda Tonight that she is a Vilmanian and that she didn’t post it so that people will bash Ate Vi.
“I take offense doon sa nagsasabi na I meant her harm by posting that. If didn’t you know, I’m a fan, you know I’m a Vilmanian. As for the spelling and grammar mistakes, Kris said that they did not bother her. “Ako po yung recipient ng card. Kung ako, noong binabasa ko, hindi ko tsinek, hindi ako nagpaka-English teacher doon sa card na yun… What touched me was the honesty, the sincerity, the genuine kindness that she showed me.”

Kris was also humble enough to say that her mistake was forgetting “that I do have on emillion followers on Instagram. Now I realize also na my good intentions of showing my appreciation to her can be taken the wrong way.
Ikaw na, Kris, ang may one million followers!
