Kris Aquino says she is to blame for ‘The Buzz’ cancellation

Kris Aquino has just admitted that she is the reason why The Buzz got cancelled after being on air for 16 years.

ABS-CBN News reports that President Benigno Aquino III sent his sister Kris a text message on New Year’s Eve, requesting for her to spend her Sundays with the family, especially after she and her sons Josh and Bimby missed family gatherings for four straight months because of her crazy work schedule.

This led Kris to ask for permission from ABS-CBN execs if she could quit the show since she’s already fulfilled her obligations as a host. Incidentally, co-host Toni Gonzaga, who back then just got engaged to Paul Soriano, was asking for the same thing.

“Honestly, I am to blame, and I own up to it,” Kris said. “Ako lang naman ang aalis, eh, pero it just so happens na may pinaalam din si Toni. Everything fell into place, and unfortunately nga, si Boy ang nalungkot, and I felt so guilty. Nag-sorry naman kami [ni Toni].
