The Queen of All Media finally weighed in on the whole same sex marriage debate that Manny Pacquiao inadvertently started last week.
In the Feb 23 episode of her morning show Kris TV, Kris Aquino revealed that she is for civil union, but believes the Philippines is not yet ready for gay marriage.
“Right now, di ba, I don’t think our country is prepared. We are not America. Hindi pa tayo handa sa ganoon,” she said.
But Kris added she wants same sex couples to have the right “as far as inheritance is concerned.”
“Civil union only because for partners who have been together and nag-pundar together for so many years. Tapos, hindi mo pwedeng iiwan sa kanya. Pwede sa will, pero legally wala ng habol, e nagmahal naman talaga,” she explained.
Kris added, “I believe in love and I also believe in monogamy.”
The 45-year-old TV host-actress noted she has many gay friends, most notably Boy Abunda, one of the celebrities who first slammed Pacquiao after his gay slur.
Do you agree with Kris?
