It finally happened, a Filipino has walked the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show runway.
Filipino-American model Kelsey Merritt’s debut in the annual event has been highly anticipated by Filipinos full of #PinoyPride, which is probably why she’s currently one of the top trending topics on Philippine Twitter.
She gave her followers a preview of what’s going on behind the scenes in a series of Instagram posts today.
The first was of her leaning on one of the iconic Victoria’s Secret makeup chairs.

She also has a photo with Victoria’s Secret veteran Adriana Lima.
“Growing up watching the @victoriassecret fashion show, I wanted to be like @adrianalima! She is such an inspiration,” Merritt wrote. “I can’t believe I get to say I’ve walked the show with her and all the beautiful VS models!!!!”

Merritt gave an even closer look into the event in her Instagram Stories where she snapped videos with models Behati Prinsloo and Candice Swanepoel.
She also introduced her followers to Roman Young, the model agency director who discovered her on Instagram four years ago.
The show hasn’t even aired yet but Filipinos are already raving about Merritt on Twitter.

Merritt is a graduate of the Ateneo de Manila University, one of the most prestigious schools in the Philippines.

As excited as they are, fans are gonna have to wait to see Merritt walk that runway. The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show will be available online on Dec. 2 (Dec. 3, Monday for the Philippines).
