KC Concepcion said she’d support the planned movie starring her parents, Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion, but on one condition.
“Sana maging mabuti at matalik na magkaibigan muna sila before anything else,” she said in an interview aired on Tonight with Boy Abunda on Friday.
(I hope they become best friends first before anything else.)
“I really just hope that they can stay friends with or without me, may pelikula man o wala. Iyun ang wish ko sa kanila, iyung mahanap nila iyong ganoong klaseng relationship.”
(I really just hope that they can stay friends with or without me, with or without a movie. That’s my wish for them, that they’d find that kind of relationship.)
It was reported back in December that Cuneta and Concepcion, who were formerly married, will be reuniting onscreen for a new movie under Star Cinema — their first since they worked together in the 1992 film “Tayong Dalawa.”
In a recent interview, Cuneta was asked about rumors that the movie had hit a snag. She said: “Sayang kung hindi matuloy (It would be a waste if the movie doesn’t push through), but I am just here patiently waiting for what Star Cinema tells me.”
“I just want to give my fans, the Sharon-Gabby fans, siguro (I guess) closure. Or it may be the beginning of something greater for the two of us,” she added.
Cuneta and Concepcion, who started out as a love team in the ’80s, married in 1984. Their marriage, however, was annulled in 1993.
