Saturday’s episode of the Kapamilya talent contest Your Face Sounds Familiar took a surprise twist, as it turned into a mini-showbiz talk show.

After performing Sheena Easton’s “Telefone (Long Distance Love Affair)”, comedienne Kakai Bautista found herself in the hot seat as she talked about her relationship with Thai superstar Mario Maurer.

The 37-year-old performer revealed she has been barred from talking to Mario.

“Basta ang alam ko lang, bawal na akong makipag-usap sa kanya. At kahit makarating pa ‘to sa Bangkok, alam nila ‘yun. Ganun talaga. Hindi na kami nag-uusap,” Kakai said.

Kakai was also asked if “Telefone (Long Distance Love Affair)” was her theme song for the entire situation. But she shot down the idea, saying: “Wala naman kasing love affair. Tapos na ‘yun, wala na ‘yun.”

Since 2013, KaKai has been denying she and Mario have romantic ties, saying their relationship is purely platonic. The two met on the set of the 2012 movie Suddenly It’s Magic. But rumors continued to swirl as Kakai posted many photos on Instagram together with Mario.

According to ABS-CBN News, Kakai even had to go on record on Showbiz Inside Report to deny the speculations. She turned emotional as she thanked Mario for the friendship: “Porket ba komedyante na chaka hindi na pwedeng magkaroon ng kaibigan na sikat na superstar, na international star?”

Kakai was also apologetic about the intrigues, but Mario, she said, brushed all of them off: “Sabi niya (Mario), ‘I don’t have to worry. Stop worrying. You’re my sister. I want you to be happy.”
