K-pop group iKON is coming to Manila

After Korean idol group Momoland announced that they will visit Manila, K-pop fans have another reason to celebrate — boy band iKON will be coming for the first time to the Philippines.

Announced today, iKON’s Manila visit is part of their first world tour called Continue.

Details such as the date and venue are still kept under wraps but the band will also visit Coconuts cities Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Jakarta, among other cities.

The tour will start in Seoul on August 18.

This early, their Filipino fans are already thrilled with the prospect of seeing members B.I, Bobby, Jinhwan, Ju-ne, Yunhyeong, Donghyuk and Chanwoo in the flesh.

Wrote Antoinette Vergara in a mix of English and Filipino: “Congratulation[s] to us PH-iKONICS! They will finally have a concert here! See you guys on d-day of [the] concert!”

Ruth Reyes is “excited.” “See you my iKON babies,” she wrote on their Facebook account.

Zelle Quijom wrote in Filipino and English: “I’m happy but I find this painful. Huhuhu [crying emojis]. How come I don’t have money [to buy tickets?]”

Zildjan Alora Mendoza tagged her friends and wrote the emotional message: “I’m trying to stop myself from crying inside the jeep. I’m listening to [one of their songs] Sinosijak but I’m really crying.”

The band is known for their hits My Type, Apology, and Dumb & Dumber. They are managed by Avex Inc. and YG Entertainment, the team behind other K-pop groups like Big Bang and the now disbanded girl group 2NE1.
