Here’s the big question: What will Jollibee do to the Pinoy-style sweet spaghetti that it’s famous for? Will it alter the taste to adapt to Italians?
Homegrown fastfood giant Jollibee is partnering up with a Singaporean brand BlackBird to own and operate the first Jollibee store in Italy.
According to a report by ABS-CBN News, “the strategy is to tap a territorial franchisee for Italy, which can develop and expand the brand in the market.”
This will be the first Jollibee store in Europe.
“Expansion to Italy is in line with diversification efforts. They are present outside Philippines, they are in China, the Middle East and the US. I guess, eventually, growth in the Philippines will slow down because they have so many stores here already,” says COL Financial’s April Lee Tan.
In an earlier report by the Philippine Star, Jollibee Food Corporations (JFC) said it wants to open a store in Italy because there are many Filipinos there.
There is no statement about the items on the menu and the exact location of the first Italy store.
In the Philippines, the JFC group has more than 3,200 stores nationwide.
